Rice Bowls 2022
28 Feb 2022 | Posted by: chadmin
We will hand out Rice Bowls with the help of the St. Philomena School 7th graders on March 5 & 6, 2022 at Mass and then to our SPS students on March 7. Please take a Rice Bowl and participate in the tradition this Lent. Inside the Rice Bowl is a Lenten Calendar with information, recipes and things you can do each day of Lent to help expand your Lenten experience.
“Each Lent, Catholic families across the country unite to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through CRS Rice Bowl, families learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and malnutrition, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world a better place for all.” From crsricebowl.org
Returning your Rice Bowl:
You can return the Rice Bowl to the parish office or to the marked bin in the main vestibule of church beginning Palm Sunday (April 9-10) through Divine Mercy Sunday (April 23-24). If you have mostly coins in your bowl, consider counting that as a family and putting bills or a check in your bowl to return it. You can also make a donation online at crsricebowl.org .
Videos:
Each week we will share with you videos and information from families around the globe and how malnutrition, water scarcity, poverty, climate and education affect people in those countries. These are really impactful videos and we hope you’ll take a look.
