Giving Tree: As we continue through the Church’s Ordinary Time, we are aware that Advent and Christmas will soon be here. We are currently gathering names of families in our church and school family that may be in need of assistance for Christmas gifts. If you are or know of a family from our parish in need, please email Fr. David (frdprichardson@stphils.com) with a name and/or contact information anytime before November 1. All information is confidential.

Reserve your ticket to Havana Nights today. You won’t want to miss this fun-filled event. It’s a good time for an even better cause.

Don’t forget to turn in your raffle tickets. The auction raffle grand prize this year is $3000, 2nd prize is $500 and 3rd prize is $250. Tickets are $10/1 or $25/3. If you need additional tickets, stop by the parish office or contact Erin Meyers, 309-369-7271. Tickets can be returned to the school or parish office, or in the collection in an envelope marked RAFFLE.

St. Philomena annual Trunk-or-Treat is Sunday, October 28 from 1-3pm in the main parking lot. Open to ALL PARISH families. Enter the campus on Twelve Oaks at the entrance north of the rectory / back of the parish center. Bring candy for 400 little goblins. Entry fee is a donation to the Women’s Care Center: newborn blankets, newborn socks, printed onesies, pacifiers, teething rings… Help is still needed at the event. Our PTO wreath sale is October 25-November 1. The school family with the highest total sales will receive a $50.00 Alwan’s Gift Card. Orders can be placed after Masses this weekend (except 7:30pm) or can be sent through school or dropped off at the church office.  Check out the school weekly newsletter or the church bulletin for further details and order forms.

This weekend begins the annual St. Philomena School canned food drive. A box will be set up in the church October 27-November 8 for your donations. We will accept non-perishable food items and toiletries. Please no glass. Donated items will be brought to New Hope Apartments in downtown Peoria. Thank you for your support.

On November 3 at 10am we will have our annual Parish Memorial Mass. At this Mass we remember all of our deceased loved ones, with special remembrance of those who have died in the past year, listed below. All are invited to join us.  After Mass Father David will also anoint anyone who desires an anointing of the sick.

Attention Parents of 2nd & 8th Graders: please save these dates and plan to attend our parent meetings. Nov. 28: Confirmation parent meeting, banquet room, 6:30pm; Nov. 29: First Reconciliation/Communion parent meeting, banquet room, 6:30pm.

Please join us for a Surviving the Holidays seminar on Wednesday, November 14 from 6:30-8pm in the St. Philomena Parish Center St. John Paul II Library.
