Sign and Sing StoryTime is Thursdays, through Dec 6, 8:45-9:15am (no class Nov. 1 or 22) meeting in the parish center basement toddler room. If you’ve created an online profile in MyOwnChurch, register via the term 2018 Fall SnS. Otherwise come early on Thursday to fill out the paperwork. Cost is $35 per family and open to little ones ages 0-4.
Annual Respect Life Month diaper drive for the Christ Child Society is this week. They are asking for disposable diapers in sizes 1 and Newborn only. There is a receptacle in the vestibule. The Society provides newborn essentials to at-risk families in our diocese.
If you are interested in joining or learning more about our choir please contact the parish office or attend choir rehearsal. Rehearsal is each Wednesday at 7pm in the choir loft.
The monthly blessing of expectant mothers and couples trying to conceive is every second Sunday after the 9am Mass. The next blessing is Sunday, October 14. Meet a representative from Elizabeth Ministry at the statue of Mary and the priest will join you for the blessing.
All Women of the Parish are invited to a night of faith, fellowship and fun. We will gather for a casual wine and cheese social on Mon., Oct. 15 from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the Parish Center. Come see how our future gatherings could be a time to simply socialize with parish women, learn a new crafty skill or make something beautiful to keep or share with someone. We look forward to seeing you there.
We are taking sign ups for our annual vigil day on Sunday, October 21 from 7am-7pm during the 40 Days for Life. Rachel’s Vineyard, a retreat for women and men struggling with the pain of abortion will be held the weekend of October 12-14, 2018 in the Peoria area. If you are a mother, a father, a grandparent, who has suffered the loss of abortion in your family — you need not suffer alone. Rachel’s Vineyard is a safe place to renew and rebuild hearts broken by abortion. Scholarships are available upon request. High School Girls are invited to join the St. Philomena Young Women’s Ministry, Finding Your Fiat, on October 21 from 4:30-7:30pm in the St. Philomena Parish Center Banquet Room for baking of pumpkin pies and planning our events for the year. Dinner is included! Additional Junior High and High School dates for the year TBA. Giving Tree: As we continue through the Church’s Ordinary Time, we are aware that Advent and Christmas will soon be here. We are currently gathering names of families in our church and school family that may be in need of assistance for Christmas gifts.
