Thank you for another successful Giving Tree effort this year. Through the generosity of our families, we assisted St. Philomena families (59 people) with 226 gifts. More than 35 items were donated to the Women’s Care Center and another 60 gifts to Catholic Charities. The monetary donations to Haiti totaled $1,750 which will feed hundreds of Haitian children. Thank you to our Men’s Club for their donation of $2000 in grocery gift cards to go with the PND food baskets that will be distributed to our families.
Episode 2 of the Tiger Tales podcast is now live. Hear about what’s going on in our school from principal, Jack Dippold (SPS2001).
Engaged over the holidays? Congratulations! Visit our church website to request a meeting with Father David and learn about marriage prep.
There is good news if you have reached age 70½ and you would like to help St. Philomena. If you have an IRA, the government requires you to take out a certain amount each year and be subject to federal tax. However, the law allows you to donate this amount directly to St. Philomena during 2019 and have it distributed free of federal income tax. What a wonderful opportunity for those 70 ½ to help St. Philomena. Please contact the person that handles your retirement plan or your tax advisor.
