Daily Mass – During Advent 2024 we will offer an additional Mass, Monday-Friday. Attending daily Mass is a great way to prepare yourself for the birth of Christ. Join us Monday – Friday at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

Confession – Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, 8:30 a.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m.; Dec. 23, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Evening Confession of Advent at  6:00 p.m. on Dec. 18, several priests will be available.

All about Advent & Christmas: Sharing the Seasons of Hope & Wonder with Children by Katherine (Katie) Bogner; “Explore the rich traditions surrounding Christ’s birth as you journey through Scripture to understand the story of salvation and discover the meaning behind many of our celebrations during Advent and Christmas.” A book authored by our St. Philomena School junior high faith teacher, Katie Bogner.

Advent Wreath – The Advent wreath teaches us about the season of Advent through its many symbols. Learn more about the history, prayers and meaning of the parts of the Advent wreath. Make a wreath with your family or purchase one for your home.

Nativity Scenes – In 2023 we celebrated the 800th anniversary of nativity scenes as we know them today? St. Francis of Assisi is credited with creating the nativity scene in Grecio, Italy in 1223. Click here to read more about this history. Today you can create nativity scenes in so many ways. In Peoria we have a Community Festival of Nativities that will take place Dec. 5-8, 2024 and even includes a Live Nativity on Dec. 5.
