Growing Disciples Announcement: St. Philomena
18 May 2024 | Posted by: chadmin
Dear friends,
On May 18, 2024, Bishop Lou communicated his decisions from the Growing Disciples Pastoral Planning initiative. Over the last two years, he has studied our parishes to provide a structure of new parishes to serve our changing Church and demographics. Below is the letter that I read at the Pentecost Vigil Mass this evening. While there will not be a change to the structure of St. Philomena Parish, the Bishop has asked me to become the new Pastor of Epiphany Parish in Normal, IL. This move will be effective on July 1, 2024. Fr. Daniel Dionesotes will continue to be the Parochial Vicar at St. Philomena and my classmate, Fr. Luke Spannagel will be the new Pastor of St. Philomena. Fr. Luke has lived at St. Philomena Rectory the last two years as he served the Church with the Eucharistic Revival Preaching and assisting at the Cathedral, Sacred Heart and St. Joseph in Peoria. Please welcome Fr. Luke! Over the next month we will have time to share memories from the 18 years I’ve been privileged to serve at St. Philomena Parish.
God Bless you,
Fr. David
