Pastor’s Letter & January 16 Bulletin

The January 16 bulletin is available online.
Dear friend,
Last weekend, we started Ordinary Time in the Church calendar with the celebration of the Baptism of the Lord. Jesus makes the waters of Baptism holy by His own Baptism. Last Sunday gave us an opportunity to reflect in thanksgiving on the gift of Baptism for all of us. Baptism initiates us into the Church, forgives sin, and bestows the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The feast of the Baptism of the Lord also gave many an opportunity to reflect on the gift of the Holy Water bottles at Christmas.
We gave Holy Water bottles so that you could bring a bit of church home with you. Holy Water is used to bless people and items. The blessing of a religious item helps ensure God’s Divine assistance when praying with a particular Rosary, Sacred Image, or in our favorite places and homes.
I was recently asked about acquiring more Holy Water when the bottle is empty. In the sanctuary of our church there is a Holy Water tank dispenser. There is an on and off handle that allows you to refill your Holy Water bottle for use at home. This picture shows the Holy Water tank. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions about the refilling process. Have a great week.
God bless,
Father David
