Reception of Holy Communion at St. Philomena
Instructions: Enter campus from Albany Avenue, turning left into the main parking lot. Proceed to park behind a cone or line of cars facing Twelve Oaks. Park and turn off car to pray. When Communion is brought to your car, roll down the window nearest each person receiving Communion. If you are wearing a mask, remove before receiving Communion. Communion should be received in the hand. Below are prayers to help you prepare to receive Communion while waiting in your car. The last prayer should be said after receiving Communion. Say these prayers privately or together as a family aloud. When the cone in front of your line is removed, please follow the traffic pattern to exit campus onto Twelve Oaks Drive.
(Make the sign of the cross) In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. In preparation for Holy Communion, we pray to God asking for forgiveness from our sins.
Confiteor
I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask Blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Prayer before Receiving Holy Communion
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, Who, by the will of the Father, with the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, by Your Death and Resurrection gave life to the world, deliver me by Your Most Sacred Body and Blood from all my sins and from every evil. Make me always cling to Your commandments, and never permit me to be separated from You. With God the Father and the Holy Spirit, who live and reign, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Lord’s Prayer
Uniting our prayer to the Universal Church we pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Reception of Holy Communion
Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof; but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
Priest/Minister: The Body of Christ. Respond: Amen.
Prayer of Thanksgiving after receiving Holy Communion
Lord Jesus, thank You for the Real Presence of Your Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist. I believe You know me and Will my good. Protect and guide all those serving the sick and restoring our society. Heal my weaknesses and forgive my sins. Help me to love and serve You and my neighbor. In Your name, may Your peace reign in our hearts, our families, and our world. Amen.
(Make the sign of the cross) The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
