The 22nd Annual St. Philomena PTO Benefit Auction WONDERLAND is coming up on Saturday, November 9.  Come and join us for excellent food, over-the-top decor and lively entertainment!  We have an auction packed with something for everyone, for every budget.  Make sure to send in your RSVP card, email Sarah Gruber (sprice88@yahoo.com) or stop at our table after Mass. Tickets are $45 per person.

Fall Adult Study – Treasure in Clay: The Teachings of Archbishop Fulton J Sheen meets each Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in the parish center banquet room. Contact Jenny Witt (jwitt@stphils.com/309-682-8642) to reserve child care needs.

As we continue through the Church’s Ordinary Time, we are aware that Advent and Christmas will soon be here. We are currently gathering names of families in our church and school family that may be in need of assistance for Christmas gifts. If you are or know of a family from our parish in need, please email Fr. David (frdprichardson@stphils.com) with their information before October 25. All information is confidential.

Trunk or Treat is Sunday, October 27. Gates open at 1pm, Trunk or Treating at 2pm. Enter campus on Twelve Oaks. Prizes for Best Costume & Decorated Trunk. Accepting donations of cash or baby items at the gate to benefit the Women’s Care Center. Bring enough treats for 350 kids. All parish families welcome!

Finding Your Fiat, October 27. Junior high girls  join us 6-7:30pm in the Parish Center to make something new with your hands, enjoy a sweet treat, games, fellowship, scripture, and prayer. High school ladies are welcome 4:30-7:30pm, dinner included. RSVP on the parish website

St. Philomena School families are selling Tanners Apple Cider Donuts as a fundraiser. Orders are due November 4 and pick up will be November 15 in the Parish Center. Volunteers will be available after Mass on October 26 & 27 to take your orders in person. Donuts are $14 each for one or two dozen, and $13 each for three dozen or more.

The PTO will not offer a wreath sale this year. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser through the years.

The 6th graders from St. Philomena School are collecting items for St. Jude families,  Waiting Room Kits for the kids and Care Bags for their families. Please help us by donating through Sunday, October 27. For a list of needed items, please click here

Sign and Sing Storytime The final session of Sign and Sing for this fall begins this week and runs Thursdays from Oct. 31-Dec. 12. There will not be class on Nov. 28. Class meets in the parish center basement toddler room after 8am Mass. Cost is $25/family. Please register online, even if you are in the current session

From the Christ Child Society: Thank you, St. Philomena parishioners, for the continued support of the Christ Child Society. We collected approximately 3500 diapers and $50 in donations. We are very grateful for the support of Fr. David and the generosity of the entire parish.

Please return your baby bottles in support of the Women’s Care Center this week/weekend. Bottles can be returned to the bins at each entrance or to the parish center office. Thank you for your support.

Fr. Mike Driscoll will present a series of six adult education sessions entitled, “Catholic Sanity: a Catholic Approach to Mental Health.” The sessions will be held at Peoria Notre Dame High School Auditorium, Wednesdays at 7pm, October 30 – December 11. Come to any or all sessions, open to the public, no sign up.

Advent By Candlelight: Women of the parish are invited Advent by Candlelight on Friday, Dec. 6 at 5:30pm in the parish center. Gather with other women of the parish and set aside the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and focus your heart and mind on Christ. Enjoy a night of food, friendship, music, and time to reflect on the wonder and awe of Christmas. Click here for details and registration information.
