First Wednesday confession is today, November 7, from 5-6pm in the church.
Men’s Club Wild Game Feed Wednesday, November 7 at 6pm in the Parish Center. Dinner & refreshments served. This month’s meeting is our annual Wild Game Feed, home-cooked as always by members of the Men’s Club. We will also hear from our school principal, Jack Dippold.
The annual St. Philomena School canned food drive is winding up. Tomorrow, November 8, is the final day for donations. Acceptable: non-perishable food items and toiletries. Please no glass. Donated items will be brought to New Hope Apartments in downtown Peoria. Thank you for your support.
All veterans are invited to the school’s annual Veterans Mass on Thursday, November 8 at 9am in the church. All veterans will be recognized, we’ll hear from a veteran guest speaker and there will be a special presentation prepared by our students.
Our parish memory book is in the front of church all of November. All are invited to write in this special memory book the names of loved ones who have died and the parish will pray for them throughout November.
The monthly blessing of expectant mothers and couples trying to conceive is Sunday, November 11 after the 9am Mass. Meet a representative from Elizabeth Ministry at the statue of Mary and a priest will join you for the blessing.
Grieving? Know someone who is? When you are grieving a loved one’s death, the holiday season can be especially painful. Please join us for a Surviving the Holidays seminar on Wednesday, November 14 from 6:30-8pm in the St. Philomena Parish Center St. John Paul II Library. Join other St. Philomena families for a fun evening of college basketball. Purchase tickets in advance to the Bradley vs. New Mexico men’s basketball game on Saturday, December 1 at 7pm for only $6 a ticket. Tickets are located in an end zone section. Order early to get your seats together, there is no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase. To order your tickets, fill out the form in this weekend’s bulletin and send exact cash or check payable to Bradley University to the parish office, place in the collection or send through school to the attention of the BRADLEY BASKETBALL TICKETS. Orders and payment must be received by Tuesday, November 20. If you have questions, contact Rhonda Parker (rhonpark@stphils.com or 309-682-8642).
Kroger Community Rewards: If you are signed up for the Kroger Rewards program we are accepting your most-recent quarterly reports. They can be turned in at the parish office, at the weekend scrip table or emailed to mbvee@yahoo.com
Sister Irene will be selling the Rolan Johnson Christmas ornaments here at St. Philomena Parish on Nov. 17-18 after Masses (not 7:30pm). The 2018 Christmas Ornament is $35. If you’d like to purchase an ornament but will not be here, contact their development office or website for a list of other locations: 309-674-2005 or development@westpeoriasisters.org. Ornaments may also be purchased using PayPal on their website www.westpeoriasisters.org Proceeds benefit the Sisters’ Retirement Fund.
